I am loving (again) LA Colors make up from Dollar Tree.

I recently purchased more LA Colors make up.  I have used them off and on for 4 years now.  I have been looking online and on You Tube for Dollar Tree Hauls.  I got to see some swatches or get a more in dept information about the make up.  I know $1.00 right?  It's got to be bad!  Yes, some are not great, but some are awesome!  It can be too powdery, or flaky- just tap your brush before you apply!  They are great with or with out primers.  The lipsticks are pigmented.  The nail polishes were a hit and miss for me.

Dollar Store

Everyone LOVES the Dollar Store!  Sure, it's only one dollar I will put it in my cart and.........$20.00 later....what?  why?  what did I get?

I usually buy coloring books, gift bags, some decorations and a few things I want and didn't need.  They usually have some make up brands.  I sometimes wonder if the "name brands" are old?  It's an old packaging.  Lately, I was able to buy elf. Maybelline, and Physicians Formula.  What I have rediscovered again is LA Colors.  I bought their make up a while ago and threw it away.  Why did I do that?  I am loving the lipsticks, blushes and eyeshadows- 6 pan and 12.  It's a hit or miss depending on the colors.  It's a dollar and I have gotten a few complements on my make up.  I think it's a good starter make up or if you are just learning to do make up and want to experiment.  I also like some of the nail polish.

Other items I like is the cleanser and I was hesitant to buy it and compared it to a brand name and it's the same ingredients.  I also get the gloves and hats.  I try not to be OCD if my 2 kids lost a glove it's a dollar!  I know, but it's a dollar!

What items do you like to buy at the dollar store?

They can work together without getting swept up in memories and the rush of brand-new passion…right?

My thoughts: I really enjoyed reading this book. There were many characters besides Nina and Mack. It deals with old love, moving away or running away, a girl dealing with her parents not getting along. I felt like I was there with them, seeing the orchards and smelling the peaches. I have never read any of her books, but I will be sure to pick up her other books. I apologize if my blog is plain. I am still learning my way around this. I don't want to give out any more of the story, but this was a great fun read to end the summer.

Back to school

This past Tuesday, was first day of school.  I have a fourth grader and her younger sister will be at home with me for 1 more year.  She so wanted to go to school that she cried when I told her she  has to wait another year.  We had her tested at school for child development and she did not need extra help.  She is excited to go to school NOW.  She is only 4 and can write her her first and last name.  She knows a lot of the colors, numbers and shapes.
This week went by fast, kind of back to the grind in an easy way.  Not a lot of  homework, which was a plus.  I am sure there will be a lot to do each day by next week.  Trying my best to be a good mom, teacher and everything in between.  I know it starts out slow, but before I know it the school year will be halfway done.  OK, I won't get ahead of myself here.
Have a great new school year.  I hope everyone will learn, grow and have a memorable year.

FurReal Friends

Our cat, Callie, wants to join in on the fun!  I recently go this from Bzz Agent.  My kids were so excited to play and Callie was too.  I was pleased with how this was packaged.  It was very easy to remove with what feels like a cloth like twisty tie.  I believe there were only 2-3 of them unlike other toys that have seems like a million of them and it's very hard to remove on Christmas Morning.  The kids were pleased with the dog, and commented that the dog walked in circles.  We told them, that's what real dogs do, walk in circles.  I rolled okay on the carpet but of course it was a whole lot better on wood floors.  There is a roller on the paw part.   She sits, barks and make noises.   Overall the kids loved this toy.  Thanks Bzz Agent for giving me a chance to share this toy with my kids and we got to try and test it out.

I was so excited to try this product from Bzz Agent. I received Coppertone Clearly Sheer for Sunny Days. SPF 30 Here is it says on the website from Bzz Agent: COPPERTONE® CLEARLYSheer™ sunscreens were designed with your skin in mind. Think about all the benefits: Absorbs in seconds for a clean and light feel Moisturizing formulas help leave your skin soft and smooth Won’t clog pores or cause breakouts (clinically tested on acne-prone skin) Matte finish is perfect for use under makeup It was very light and fresh. It did not feel heavy. I used it alone and also under make up. I did not have any breakouts or any reaction so far. I use it on my children ages, 9 and 3, and they are able to apply it themselves. I put the lotion on their faces and it absorbs fairly quick and doesn't feel tacky. I am over all pleased with the products and will pick up the other formula for the Beach called Coppertone Clearly Sheer for Beach and Pool. SPF 50 I received this product from Bzz Agent. I try, sample, and test the products and give my honest opinion. I also received samples to share with friends.

Monday night to Tuesday Morning April 14-15 2014

IT SNOWED!  The leaves were finally turning green.  It seems like it's brown brown and brown then over night- WOW it's NOW GREEN.  I like the cold weather.  It was I think a "dusting" of snow.  Since there were no snow and we had warm days like above 50 the snow didn't stick to the ground.  Now, if the ground was cold the snow would not have melted.   Sometimes, the sun melts the snow, sometimes the suns makes it glittery and sparkly.
I lived in Florida from 86 to 96 then moved to IL.  I LOVE the winter.  I was born in Philippines.  I have NEVER meet another ASIAN that LOVES the cold.

Chai Latte Eyeshadow

It is snowing here.  It is April.  We had nice weather for a day or two.  That is ok because today I had great deals at my local CVS.  I used to not like CVS, because I did not understand the Extra Bucks and 2% back every 3 months.
On to my deals
Maybelline Chai Latte.  I have picked this up many many times, but put it back in the shelf.  This week it is on sale for 5.00 and I bought the paper at Dollar Tree for the first time in months and there was a 1.00 off coupon.  I also had my Extra Bucks rewards making this FREE!

My favorite lip color.  It's form a drugstore.

Extraordinaire by Colour Riche  Dancing Rose.  It's a nice soft pink color.

                                Dancing Rose

It's a nice soft color.  I like this color, but the color I wanted to get was Rose Symphony.  This is a brighter color.

                                Rose Symphony

I forgot about it because I was looking at Dancing Rose.  I plan to get this color and Nude Ballet.  This is a natural color, but I am not sure if this color will wash me out.  I will have to try it.

                                Nude Ballet

Chinese New Year

Happy Chinese New Year!
I am half Chinese and we always celebrate it.  Now that I have my own family, we celebrate it too.  In a lower scale.  We order Chinese food, of course, and Noodles are a must.  If I remember right it's for long life.  I do  have a red shade of shirt as well.
I have a friend, she is white, her husband is Chinese, and my Mother in law, that acknowledge this celebration.  The first friend always post a message on FB.  My Mother in law also post and for the last 2-3 years, she sends me a card.  I am not sure she will send one this year since she said she forgot a few days ago.  That is ok.  Just the greeting is good for me.

I am drooling thinking about getting our Chinese food for dinner.  I haven't had Chinese food in a while.

Have a Happy Chinese New Year.  It's the year of the Horse.
